When something is going hard and beyond our control, there is a Catholic concept called - offering it up. It might sound odd at first but once you understand the logic of it - it makes a lot of sense. Simply - you offer up the 'suffering' to join with Christ in His so that he can use your pain to help someone else who needs help. It makes it 'worth it' somehow. If it doesn't work for you, that's fine... but if you are interested, you could read about it at http://www.firstthings.com/onthesquare/2011/05/offering-it-up.
Either way, I thank you for your blog. I hope I have not offended you in any way by offering this suggestion.
RosemaryAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6031485803458983078.post-11701457796365107292013-04-06T10:36:43.804-07:002013-04-06T10:36:43.804-07:00What a beautiful description of the human spirit. ...What a beautiful description of the human spirit. Ironically, I was silently cursing out my computer as it seemed to take 'forever' to get to the spot where I could leave a comment...but before those silent curse words had a chance, I was reminded of YOUR message and how I needed to internalize it! Thank you, Sarah! Yes, the stars...I love them too and don't appreciate them enough, thanks for reminding me.
I recently read a book called "wave' by a lady who survived the tsunami in asia, she lost her husband, 2 children and parents. This book reminded me to put things in perspective cause life can change in a flash ...as you know too. Thanks again..ahoy.jennihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00362958130482625558noreply@blogger.com
